Assumption Guidance Head Earnes Phil Hedges Award
Congratulations to Arlene Cass for winning the Ontario Student Counselor Association’s Phil Hedges Award in the London and Niagara Region for 2007.
The Phil Hedges award is very prestigious and recognizes the contributions to Guidance and Career Education by dedicated counselors in the Province of Ontario
Arlene has been in Guidance and Career Education for 12 years. She is currently the Head of the Guidance department at Assumption. Arlene’s countless hours have been spent working collaboratively with other departments in the school, especially Cooperative Education and Special Education areas, to promote success for all. She has been a tireless advocate for the Locally Developed program, Credit Recovery, Credit Rescue, School Within a College program, and Native Studies program. Whether it is through piloting creative programs, promoting pathways, providing information nights for parents or easing the transition into high school, Arlene has the staff and students in mind when she makes all decisions.
Assumption College School is very thankful for being able to work with Arlene. We are very proud of her accomplishments and that she was chosen as a recipient of the Phil Hedges award. Congratulations and thank you from all of the staff, students, parents and community that have been affected by Arlene’s dedication to Guidance and Career Education.
