Mock Trial Team Makes it Three Straight at Regional Competition
The ACS Mock Trial Team competed in the regional competition for the Ontario Bar Association’s Mock Trial Tournament on Friday March 26th. The team competed in a series of three trials throughout the day and through hard fought battles claimed victory in all of the three, allowing them to advance to the provincial competition to be held in April. With this victory, the team has won the regional competition for the third straight year showing their dedication and determination in the court room. The team consists of 7 members: Alex Young, Geoffrey Ankumah, Nicole Tuczynski, and Chris Radojewski as the team’s lawyers, Heather Dennis, and Mathew Demeulenaere as witnesses, and Cassidy Rathwell as the team’s student coach. The team would not be complete however without the help of its two teacher coaches, Ms.Tunnicliffe and Ms. Weiler, dramatic coaching from Ms. Locey and its two local lawyers, Mr. Dennis Touesnard and Mr. George Orsini. With the team’s well earned victory in the regional competition, hosted right here in Brantford, the team will soon face another set of trials in the Provincial Competition being held in Toronto, where the team hopes to defend its championship title from last year. The team of course, has the support of ACS and is wished nothing but luck in the challenges they have yet to face.
