P.U.S.H Retreat 2005

P.U.S.H Retreat 2005

"We are One"...a simple school motto for most, but for 48 grade 12 students, these three words most accurately describe the remarkable, life altering experience that is...the P.U.S.H retreat. For us seniors, entering the final stretch of highschool, making ultimate decisions that will shape our lives, the retreat provided a serene and calming environment which allowed us to leave our fears and confusions behind. From the time we arrived at Apps Mill, to the time we started packing up, each of us left with a better understanding of, not only ourselves, but of each other. Before the P.U.S.H retreat most of us had spent four years wandering the halls, sitting in classrooms and standing in caf lines with the same people...we all knew each other, but we didn't really know each other. This retreat is really the ultimate opportunity for grade twelve students to grow closer together and bond in their senior year. Many found themselves looking a little longer, listening a little harder and thinking a little deeper when we shared experiences which were at times uplifting and hysterical, but at others, overwhelmingly heartbreaking.

The secrets of the PUSH retreat have been preserved as Assumption tradition with the guarantee of shocking future grade twelves with the sometimes outrageous, sometimes expressive activities meant to evoke memories that will last a lifetime. There is never a dull moment on this adventure and new surprises are always popping up. Space, however, is limited, so any new grade twelves wanting to be part of an exhilarating, action packed two day getaway should reserve space as soon as possible to get in on the fun.
