Take Our Kids to Work
Take Our Kids to Work
On Wednesday, November 5, over 300 ACS grade nine students left their school books and binders at home and headed to work with a parent, relative or family friend for a day on the job.
Take Our Kids to Work Day is a national program that invites young students from across the country to experience life from their parents’ perspective. It is an opportunity to bond with an adult in their lives and appreciate the challenges they face on a daily basis.
Dalton Alford spent the day with his mother Karen at the Williamson Group. Karen is a Client Services Representative at the Williamson Group and Dalton was able to assist her in some of her duties.
Risi George and Carter Slifierz were busy at the Smakdab! The Pottery Studio on Colborne Street, helping Risi’s aunt Rose Risi at her craft.
When polled, most grade nine students noted that they did not realize how much work their parents perform in a given day. Take Our Kids to Work Day provides students with a new perspective on the challenges and rewards of a fulfilling career.
